Montreal, one of the largest IT companies in Brazil, will present during ICMedia 2012 a novel solution in the country: payment at your fingertips. The technology adapts the well known biometric identification system (AFIS) for the retail market, where payment is done digitally. In substitution of the card, the consumer uses their fingerprints and the invoice is released directly into your bank account.
Known as Finger Payment, a technology developed by German company Dermalog Identification Systems GmbH, a partner of Montreal, enables your application on any network of retail stores. In Germany, the solution has been applied since 2010 in one of the largest supermarket chains in the country.
ICMedia visitors will have the opportunity to test a process similar to that already used by the Germans. Within the Digital City, where will be presented cutting edge solutions in IT, it will be mounted a supermarket cashier who works at Finger Payment system. There, users can test the application, which will be installed next to environments such as stadiums, banks, airports, among others in the event.
The new AFIS solution is now available for use in any trade market. In partnership with Dermalog, Montreal has been working with this technology since 1997. Since then, it has become a leader in this segment in the country today and meets the highest registration for biometric identification in Latin America, with over 11 million records.
