The German company Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) will present during the 2012 ICMedia, the latest technological advances applied to electronic health cards, which allow the use of a telematics infrastructure for modern and effective medical treatment. The solution includes electronic health cards for doctors and patients.
G&D will show two new high performance cards which improves treatment quality since they increase the efficiency of patient information administration. Using two cards, always together, the personal data of patients are effectively protected, since doctors can only access the information when the patient presents their card.
In Germany, high-performance electronics health cards are part of an ambitious project that involves the construction of 82 million cards, one of the largest IT projects in the world.
